EthosGPS is a remote assessment service with a Handicare Moving and Handling Key Support Worker via Skype, WhatsApp, FaceTime or a phone call. The remote assessment will follow a sequence of questions and a concise practical assessment to ascertain whether your client can GPS - Grip, Push and Shuffle.
EthosGPS is a new remote assessment and supply service that has been designed to support Occupational Therapists, Discharge Teams and Carers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this service, Handicare aims to assist with hospital discharge so beds are freed up more quickly and to keep other clients at home for longer.

Remote assessment via Skype, WhatsApp, FaceTime or Zoom with a Handicare professional
EthosGPS allows online remote assessment via Skype, WhatsApp, FaceTime, Zoom or a phone call with a Handicare A1 Risk Solutions/ ROSPA Level 4 Moving and Handling professional. The remote assessment will follow a sequence of questions and a concise practical assessment to ascertain whether an individual can GPS - Grip, Push and Shuffle. If the individual is able to GPS - Grip, Push and Shuffle, this will indicate that they have a Functional Independence Measure (FIM) level of 3, 4, 5 or 6. From this remote assessment, we will be able to recommend a Handicare Moving and Handling equipment such as the ReTurn7500i and ReTurnBelt.

During the remote assessment, we will be able to recommend an equipment solution based on your client's Functional Independence Measure (FIM) level.

Doorstep delivery service
If purchased directly through Handicare or the Handicare Webshop we will deliver equipment such as the ReTurn7500i and ReTurnBelt if suitable, assembled, clinically clean and bagged, direct to your client's front door. We will liaise with you, the family member or carer before delivery to confirm a suitable time. When delivering, we will ensure we maintain social distancing and stay at least 2m away.

Post delivery follow up
We will follow up with your client and their family/ carer via Skype, WhatsApp, FaceTime, Zoom or a phone call to confirm that they're happy with the equipment and answer any questions they may have.
